BUFFALO SOLDIER CHALLENGE

Once the trail runners have completed their races and caught their breath, it’s time for the Buffalo Soldiers to take center stage!

Launched at Tangila Trail Series 2022, the Buffalo Soldier Challenge is a non-technical 11 km bicycle race for Mkushi farm staff who ride single-speed bicycles. It’s a great way for a wider spectrum of the farming community to get involved and to experience the unique mix of camaraderie and competition that defines Tangila Trail Series.

See below for detailed rules and requirements.

We were delighted that Buffalo Bicycles, a subsidiary of World Bicycle Relief, came on board again in 2024 to support the Buffalo Soldier Challenge by providing a t-shirt and cap to each participant.

Niner Juliet Logistics and Nandalala Holistic Living also provided generous cash prizes to the first male and first female finishers.
